Battle of Warsaw - miracle at the Vistula in 3D

"Battle of Warsaw" is a short animated movie, telling the story and genesis of one of the most important clashes in modern world history and the most important battle of the Polish-Bolshevik war. We created the 3D animation entirely in-house, and you can watch it on our Youtube channel and in the application "Trails of Independent Poland 1914-1922" which was albo developed by us. Movie was produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Institute of History of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.

The main artistic concept of the film is to show warfare using leaden soldiers. The figures of soldiers, commanders, as well as equipment such as tanks, planes – everything was generated by the CGI Workroom Group team.

We have also revived the maps we have created for the application of the “Trails of Independent Poland 1914-1922” and animated them to show the tactical skill of battle commanders in a fascinating way.

The “Miracle on the Vistula” itself is a key moment during which the Polish and Bolshevik armies clash. The photorealistic effects of elements destroy, fall apart, and bringing it closer to the details of the characters required hundreds of hours on the rendering farm, but added a clash of horror and drama.

Exceptional subject matter required exceptional cooperation. The soundtrack and music for the film were composed by Wojciech Frycz, and Bogna Kowalczyk took up the script and direction.

Thousands of hand-painted textures, particle simulations, advanced post-production – the effect is impressive!

Check it out for yourself and watch the movie on our youtube channel.
