WE ARE MARKETING PARTNER FOR THE REVITALIZATION PROJECT OF THE IMPERIAL SHIPYARD GDANSK

By workroom

In March, two Belgian developers – Alides and Re-Vive (hereafter: Edonia) acquired the Imperial Shipyard and adjacent Marina District (hereafter together referred to as: Imperial Shipyard), a total area of 16ha. Following its tumultuous history, the project aims to be a revolutionary forerunner in the field of urban planning, sustainability, and social inclusion.

37 years have passed since the memorable events in Gdansk Shipyard, when striking shipyard workers under the leadership of Lech Wałęsa founded the first free trade union in the communist bloc and led to the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe, attaining freedom for the next generations. While the totalitarian regimes in Eastern Europe have evolved into dynamic democracies, the area of the Gdansk Shipyard is about to write a new page of history as one of the largest and most ambitious urban renewal projects in Europe.

This is undoubtedly one of the largest investments in Gdansk. The majority of the development is designated to residential real estate, i.e. over 3,000 residential units (approx. 250,000 sqm PUM). The monumental buildings qualified for preservation will be given a new life and will be reused for offices, retail, hospitality and cultural and recreational activities.
